iaflogoThe Idaho Aviation Foundation’s goal is to have a new lodge to serve the public--and we are nearing the goal!  The lodge will be a log structure of about 3,500 square feet, and will project a backcountry feel to complement the area.

First Floor Concept

  • The new lodge design will be a departure from the old lodge. .
  • Two-story log structure with basement for cold storage and water box management (old facility had no basement)
  • Dining area for 20+ with an open Common Area tor overflow dining--much larger than the old lodge
  • In the Common Area, the lodge will be open to the roof, with a second story on two sides of the perimeter
  • A fireplace with rock chimney will welcome visitors to sit and visit with one another
  • A 10' deep porch on two sides will encourage people to sit and enjoy the view while sipping coffee or evening beverages
  • The kitchen area will be double the size of the old kitchen, allowing for better food preparation
  • Four bedrooms with private baths, including one room on the first floor that meets AmericanSecond Floor Concept Disabilities Act requirements.
  • Two half-baths on the first floor
  • Separate shower facility on the site for non lodge visitors
  • Completion of the lodge is drawing near and it is as beautiful as we hoped!
  • New Lodge operations will run approximately from mid-June to mid/late October.
  • A backcountry yurt has been donated to IAF.  The Yurt will Add Lodging Options to Big Creek Lodge

  * A future phase may include small cabins for rental adjacent to the lodge.

We need your help to finish it. Click here to see how you can donate.
